Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior SAP SD Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SAP APO Global Available-to-Promise (gATP), Backorder Processing (BOP), and ABAP development. The consultant will work directly in the customer's SAP ECC environment to develop, test, and support custom functionality for automated sales order quantity reallocation based on recommendations received through Azure Service Bus.

The ideal candidate combines SAP SD functional expertise with strong technical ABAP development skills and understands how sales order changes interact with gATP confirmations and BOP execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom ABAP solutions within the customer's SAP ECC system to process automated sales order allocation recommendations.
• Implement sales order quantity reallocation using standard SAP logic and BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE.
• Develop custom function modules and background processing to support automated order changes.
• Implement snapshot, recovery, rollback, and error-handling mechanisms to maintain data consistency.
• Manage the sequence of reducing quantities on giving orders, rechecking receiving orders through gATP, and restoring original quantities where required.
• Implement output suppression and ensure appropriate control over sales order processing outputs.
• Develop result feedback mechanisms for the integration add-on and implement BOP completion signaling.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and validation in the customer's SAP QA environment.
• Troubleshoot issues related to sales order confirmations, gATP availability checks, BOP execution, and custom ABAP logic.
• Provide ongoing technical support, defect resolution, and code maintenance after go-live.
• Collaborate with the customer and integration stakeholders to ensure reliable execution of the allocation process.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP SD sales order processing and order management.
• Proven experience with SAP APO gATP (Global Available-to-Promise).
• Practical experience with SAP Backorder Processing (BOP), including order reallocation and reconfirmation scenarios.
• Strong ABAP development skills, including custom function modules, debugging, error handling, and background processing.
• Experience using BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for programmatic sales order updates.
• Understanding of SAP sales order confirmation logic and the interaction between order changes, gATP checks, and BOP.
• Experience implementing data snapshots, recovery mechanisms, and reliable processing controls.
• Ability to work directly in the customer's SAP system as a hands-on functional/technical consultant.
• Strong troubleshooting, testing, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating SAP ECC with external systems or middleware.
• Familiarity with Azure Service Bus or message-based integration workflows.
• Experience with SAP output control and suppression during automated order changes.
• Experience supporting custom SAP solutions through production deployment and post-go-live stabilization.

Work Arrangement

• Remote engagement supporting a US-based customer.
• Must be available to work in US time zones.
• Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.
• Ability to support the custom solution after go-live is required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on SAP SD/APO gATP technical consultant who can independently handle both the functional order-reallocation logic and the associated ABAP development. Candidates with strong SAP SD or ABAP experience alone, without practical APO gATP and BOP experience, may not be suitable for this role.
