Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst to manage payroll tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and tax-related issues across multiple jurisdictions. This role will serve as a subject matter expert and partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, Accounting, tax agencies, and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage federal, state, local, provincial, and Puerto Rico payroll tax compliance.
  • Prepare and review payroll tax filings, deposits, and reconciliations.
  • Support quarter-end and year-end filings, including 941, 940, W-2, and T4.
  • Review payroll tax configurations in Oracle HCM and ADP SmartCompliance.
  • Research and resolve complex payroll tax notices, assessments, and penalties.
  • Support internal and external payroll tax audits.
  • Analyze tax discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance on multi-state withholding, wage limits, reciprocity, unemployment taxes, and statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll systems, tax providers, and the general ledger.
  • Support payroll system upgrades, tax updates, and process improvements.
  • Maintain documentation, controls, and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll tax experience in a complex, multi-state environment.
  • Experience with Oracle HCM and ADP SmartCompliance.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex tax matters independently.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master s degree in Accounting, Tax, Business, or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  • Experience supporting U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico payroll tax compliance.
