Job Description

Netzschutztechniker / Inbetriebnahmetechniker Umspannwerke | Jena, Germany | Hybrid We're hiring on behalf of a leading European energy infrastructure company, renowned for its commitment to sustainability and driving the energy transition. This employer plays a crucial role in modernizing and expanding the power grid, contributing significantly to climate protection goals. The Role • Oversee new construction and modernization projects for medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations up to 380kV. • Commission and test electrical installations to ensure the smooth flow of green energy. • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, collaborating with expert teams. • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices from leading manufacturers. • Conduct precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology using modern testing equipment. • Contribute to the energy transition by supporting projects in energy transmission, distribution, and industrial/renewable energy park connections. What You'll Need • A completed apprenticeship in electrical engineering. • Proven experience or strong affinity for protection/control technology. • Ideally, experience in commissioning switchgear, adhering to communication standards like IEC 60870-5-101/103/104. • Familiarity with Siemens DIGSI 4/5, Schneider MICOM S1, and OMICROM Test Universe software is advantageous. • Strong teamwork, responsibility, decision-making, and communication skills with excellent German proficiency. • A valid Class B driver's license and willingness to travel (typically Monday-Thursday) within Northeast Germany.
