Job description

High performance isn't a given. It’s built on standards.
Standards that have driven McLaren for over 60 years.
And if you’re ready for the challenge, that standard is yours to own.
Burning enthusiasm. Constant improvement. The thrill in the pursuit of better.
That’s how we build a legacy. And how you build a career here.
Because racing isn’t just something we do. It’s who we are.
We are racers.
Are you?

As a Technical Support Engineer, you’ll join a skilled team delivering precision-engineered metallic components that drive performance on track. You’ll support Manufacturing Engineering and Planning to optimise the flow of work into the Machine Shop, helping ensure car components, pit equipment and wind tunnel parts progress efficiently while supporting quality and OEE targets.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with Planning and Manufacturing Engineering to schedule and accept work into the Machine Shop, considering project plans and available capacity.
  • Partner with Shift Leads and Team Leaders to support right first time, in full delivery.
  • Provide reliable set and run time estimates and review actual timings to improve future planning.
  • Help ensure raw materials, gauges, bespoke cutters and fixtures are identified and planned at the earliest opportunity.
  • Communicate critical information and opportunities to Process Engineers and support improvement projects, including new part introduction and repeat-component revisions.
  • Provide ideas and data to enhance MRP and MES systems, while contributing operational achievements, risks, issues and opportunities to team meetings

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a high-technology, small-batch precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • A proven track record of cross-functional liaison and delivery management.
  • Experience working effectively in a team-orientated environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with excellent knowledge of MRP and MES systems.
  • Experience introducing new working practices to support world-class manufacturing.
  • An understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and control mechanisms.

Personal Attributes

You’ll be an excellent communicator with a professional, mature and respectful approach. Flexible, agile and highly self-motivated, you’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the team while remaining composed under pressure. You’ll be a collaborative team player who promotes best practice and is determined and results-focused in delivering the best possible outcome.

Success in racing comes from bringing together talented people with different skills, perspectives and experiences. We're committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to deliver their best work.

Every role has the potential to drive high performance. You'll be part of a team united by a shared ambition to push boundaries and embody our racing mindset. We invest in our people through opportunities to develop and grow, creating an environment where individuals and teams can thrive.
Alongside a range of wellbeing initiatives and development opportunities, we're committed to helping you build a rewarding career and make your mark at McLaren Racing.
