L3 Network Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a L3 Network Engineer for a Contract with a client in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will support and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, and cloud environments.

Rate Range: $55/Hour to $60/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

L3 Network Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot large-scale enterprise and telecom network environments, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center infrastructure.
• Administer and support Juniper switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortigate SD-WAN, Aruba ClearPass, F5 load balancers, and Infoblox solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
• Configure, optimize, and maintain routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP, STP, and LACP across global network environments.
• Collaborate with internal customers and global teams to resolve incidents, implement network changes, and deliver infrastructure projects within established timelines.
• Develop and implement network automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Lead network support activities, perform root cause analysis for complex issues, and ensure adherence to ITIL-based infrastructure management and operational best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Reporting/Analytics solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, Apache Doris, Python, complex SQL development, ETL pipeline design, and Tableau dashboard development.
• Proven ability to work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and lead offshore teams in delivering scalable data and reporting applications.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
