Job description

Contracts Manager - Commercial

About the role

We are looking for a commercially minded Contracts Manager to support our business throughout the pre-sales and post-sales lifecycle.  Reporting to the legal function and working closely with Sales, Finance, Bid and Delivery teams, you will help shape commercially sound agreements and ensure contractual commitments are understood and managed throughout delivery.

Key responsibilities

Pre-sales and contract negotiation

You will support Sales and Bid teams by reviewing the proposed terms and conditions in tender documents, identifying contractual risks and recommending practical solutions. You will draft, review and negotiate customer and supplier agreements, statements of work, confidentiality agreements, amendments and other related documentation.

Post-sales contract management

Following contract award, you will coordinate a clear handover to Delivery and operational teams, highlighting key obligations, milestones, dependencies and commercial risks. You will maintain oversight of contractual requirements and support colleagues in managing acceptance, invoicing milestones, renewals and notice periods.

You will manage contract changes, variations and extensions, ensuring changes to scope, price or timescales are properly assessed, approved and documented. Where issues arise, you will help establish the contractual position, coordinate an appropriate response and support negotiations to reach a commercially workable outcome.

Commercial support and governance

As a day-to-day contact for contractual queries, you will provide clear, practical guidance to internal stakeholders and engage directly with colleagues, customers and suppliers. You will recognise when an issue requires  legal advice and/or senior approval and escalate it with a clear explanation of the risks and available options.

You will maintain accurate contract records via the legal repository, draft contract templates, NDA’s and assist in corporate filings policies and processes.

Experience and skills

You will bring:

  • Relevant experience in commercial contracts, contract management or a similar role.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating B2B agreements and managing contractual changes.
  • A sound understanding of commercial risk, payment terms, liability and general contractual risk.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain contractual issues clearly to colleagues.
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage several contracts and competing deadlines.

A qualification in business, law, finance or a related subject would be useful, as would a relevant commercial or contract management qualification. Equivalent practical experience is equally valued; a legal qualification is not essential.

What success looks like

You will help the business reach clear, balanced agreements, give Delivery teams a strong understanding of their commitments and ensure contractual changes are managed effectively. Your contribution will support profitable delivery, timely commercial decisions and constructive customer relationships.

What’s in it for you?

Besides the opportunity to work for a global company that is customer and people focused, we offer:
