Role type: Full-time; Fixed Term for 2 years. Salary: UoM 7 - $111,275 - $120,453 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
Role OverviewSpecialist service design role in FEIT workshops to shape safe, inclusive practical learning experiences and collaborate with academics and technical experts.
Responsibilities- Lead end to end service design across workshops, makerspaces and informal spaces to enable high quality user experiences.
- Conduct user research and journey mapping, translating pedagogical and research needs into clear service models.
- Create and iterate service blueprints, prototypes and digital tools, ensuring designs are feasible and well documented.
- Define performance measures, track service effectiveness and lead continuous improvement initiatives using data and feedback.
- Support implementation, change management and stakeholder engagement to embed new standards, workflows and training materials.
- Map journeys, co design processes and embed safety, accessibility and continuous improvement into practical learning.
- Collaborate with academics, technical staff and infrastructure leaders to turn service concepts into operational reality.
- Hold a degree or equivalent experience in service design, UX, interaction design or closely related disciplines.
- Substantial experience delivering service design projects within complex, multi stakeholder organisations.
- Strong user research skills: plan studies, conduct interviews, synthesize insights into personas and journeys.
- Ability to create and iterate service blueprints, journey maps and prototypes, validating designs through testing and evaluation.
- Facilitate co design workshops confidently with academics, technical staff, students and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Translate service concepts into implementable workflows, requirements and pilots, supporting roll out and adoption.
- Current valid work rights for Australia.
