Connected Services Software Engineer

Seeking a mid-level Software Development Engineer, with automation, and connected technology experience. We're looking for a talented Connected Services Software Engineer to help build and enhance monitoring, testing, and automation solutions that support cutting-edge connected platforms and services. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering, automation, data analysis, and system monitoring while collaborating with cross-functional teams dedicated to delivering high-quality customer experiences.
What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain tools that support system monitoring, validation tracking, and operational reporting.
• Build automated testing frameworks and utilities that improve quality, scalability, and efficiency.
• Monitor platform, service, and system health to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
• Analyze logs, telemetry, and operational data to troubleshoot technical challenges and drive root cause analysis.
• Partner with Engineering, QA, and Operations teams to improve automation coverage and testing processes.
• Develop dashboards and reporting solutions that provide visibility into system performance and service quality.
• Support validation and readiness activities for critical testing events and product releases.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of software development experience using Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
• Experience building automation tools, test frameworks, or monitoring solutions.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, QA processes, and defect management.
• Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and identify root causes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, and server infrastructure.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and APIs.
• Experience working with REST APIs, databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, or telemetry platforms.
• Exposure to connected devices, IoT, telematics, mobility platforms, or similar connected ecosystems.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
