The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading facilities management and building services organisation supporting a prestigious client site in Milton Keynes.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to work within a professional, fast-paced environment where service excellence, technical expertise and continuous improvement are highly valued.
You will play a key role in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and engineering support across a modern commercial facility, ensuring critical building systems remain operational, compliant and maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services systems.<br />Ensure the effective operation, maintenance and repair of M&E plant, equipment and associated building fabric.<br />Complete maintenance activities in line with statutory requirements, industry best practice and maintenance schedules.<br />Utilise CAFM systems to manage work allocation, maintenance records and performance monitoring.<br />Support compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality management procedures.<br />Supervise specialist contractors, including inductions, permits and completion of works.<br />Review and support Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).<br />Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.<br />Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and customers to ensure exceptional service delivery.<br />Participate in technical training, toolbox talks and team meetings.<br />Provide support for out-of-hours operational issues when required.About You We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused engineer who can work independently whilst contributing positively to a collaborative engineering team.
Essential Requirements City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.<br />A minimum of two years' experience within facilities management, building services or a maintenance engineering environment.<br />Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems.<br />Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance in commercial environments.<br />Knowledge of HVAC and air conditioning systems.<br />Understanding of water treatment systems, generators, fire alarm systems and associated building services.<br />Familiarity with lifts and critical infrastructure, including UPS systems and communications rooms.<br />Ability to interrogate and operate Building Management Systems (BMS).<br />Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.<br />Excellent communication skills with a customer-facing approach.Personal Attributes Reliable, professional and responsive.<br />Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.<br />Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.<br />Organised and capable of managing competing priorities.<br />Positive team player with a collaborative approach.<br />Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.<br />Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.What's on Offer?
