Python Developer
Location: New York / New Jersey
Contract: W2 only, 6 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
Pay: $60-$68/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match
Overview
The position is for a Python Developer in Risk Americas, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of robust automation tools and internal modules. This role is centered on transforming complex technical and functional specifications into high-performance software solutions. Unlike traditional development roles that require extensive requirement gathering, this position is highly execution-oriented. The selected consultant will be provided with detailed, pre-defined specifications and will be responsible for end-to-end implementation, testing, and optimization of tools that streamline operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automation tools supporting complex data investigations, risk analysis, and workflow management.
- Develop scripts and applications to automate manual processes, including ETL processes and Excel-based workflows.
- Design and implement reporting modules, automated commentary generation solutions, and escalation workflows.
- Create integrations between internal APIs, databases, and third-party systems.
- Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Test solutions thoroughly to support high-volume processing and edge-case scenarios.
- Optimize existing applications for performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Partner with Risk users, analysts, and technology teams during testing and production deployment.
Required Skills
- Advanced Python development expertise.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience.
- Experience with Pandas, NumPy, and Openpyxl.
- Experience consuming RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of Git, unit testing, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience building automation tools, workflow solutions, reporting modules, notification engines, or escalation logic.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.

- AI exposure.
- CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Financial services, risk management, or regulated environment experience.
