Information System Security Engineer

GovCIO LLC seeks an Information System Security Engineer to support our Information Technology & Cybersecurity team in delivering secure, innovative solutions for federal clients. You will design and implement security architectures, conduct vulnerability assessments, and support incident response while ensuring compliance with NIST and RMF standards. Working in a culture of agility and continual learning, you'll collaborate across teams to integrate security into system lifecycles and deploy modern tools that protect mission-critical government systems and data.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure IT and cybersecurity architectures for federal systems
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediate findings across networks, applications, and cloud environments
• Support RMF and NIST-based security compliance activities and documentation
• Monitor security events, analyze threats, and support incident response efforts
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to integrate security into system life cycles
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and technical procedures
• Recommend and deploy security tools and automation to enhance protection and visibility
• Provide security engineering guidance to stakeholders and project teams
