Quick overview
Job description
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide personalised supported employment to people who may be experiencing mental health conditions, disabilities, long-term health conditions or other complex barriers to work. You will work closely with employers, health professionals, Jobcentre Plus, community services and local partners to promote integration and create opportunities that help people secure, return to and sustain employment that is right for them.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference through a project that recognises the positive impact good work can have on health, wellbeing, confidence and independence.
The successful candidates will deliver the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) or Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of supported employment, managing a varied caseload of around 20 for SEQF participants, or 25 for IPS participants. You will provide personalised information, advice and guidance, develop strengths-based action plans, and deliver tailored in-work support that helps people prepare for work, return to work and remain in work. You will also maintain accurate, detailed and timely participant paperwork and CRM records that clearly evidence progress, ongoing engagement and the IPS “Place, Train and Maintain” approach.
You will build strong relationships with employers to identify suitable vacancies and create opportunities, while working closely with health professionals, Jobcentre Plus, community services, referral partners and other local organisations to provide responsive, joined-up and fully integrated support. We are looking for someone who communicates with empathy, builds trust, solves problems confidently and stays organised while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
The Employment Specialist posts are on a fixed term contract to 31st March 2029, situated in the Economic Regeneration Departments Employability Section and funded by the UK Government through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The salary for the position is Grade 7 £33119 - £36581 per annum.
3 x Full time posts. Temporary until 31.03.29.
