Job description

About the Role

Join a public-sector software team delivering AI-native systems for state, local, and federal government clients. You will partner with a forward deployed product manager to modernize legacy infrastructure and build tools that support public services.

What You'll Do

  • Own technical projects from client discovery and solution design through implementation, launch, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Use AI coding tools to build and iterate quickly against live customer requirements.

  • Create reusable components, data models, and workflows that support future deployments.

  • Work directly with government stakeholders, spending roughly 25% of your time with clients and 75% building.

  • Travel occasionally to client sites, approximately five days per quarter.

What We're Looking For

  • One to five years of experience as a forward deployed engineer or customer-facing software engineer.

  • Experience owning a technical deployment end to end, from initial build through customer adoption and post-launch support.

  • Hands-on daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or Factory.

  • Full-stack engineering skills, including backend and frontend development, data modeling, and workflow design; experience with AWS and legacy systems is relevant.

  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent technical field, or comparable experience.

  • Background in software- or model-focused AI, early-stage technology companies, or government-facing work is helpful.

  • Current authorization to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $170,000 to $220,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in New York, New York, five days per week, with occasional travel to client sites.
