Senior Azure DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared)

Contract: 6 months Initial Contract
Location: London (Hybrid - 50% onsite)
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to support the productionisation of a business-critical Azure-hosted application within a secure and regulated environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on Azure App Services, API Management, security implementation, infrastructure automation, and DevOps best practice. You will be responsible for delivering technical changes, improving platform reliability, and establishing repeatable deployment and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and optimise Azure API Management (APIM) integration with Azure App Services.
• Implement API routing, policies, authentication, certificates, and networking configurations.
• Review and improve Azure App Service configuration, scalability, reliability, and operational readiness.
• Implement secure authentication and authorisation solutions using Entra ID, Managed Identities, and RBAC.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for Azure applications and infrastructure.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational dashboards using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Configure secure secrets management and access controls.
• Establish release, rollback, recovery, and deployment validation processes.
• Produce technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Work closely with Architecture, Security, Engineering, and Governance teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active SC Clearance.
• Strong hands-on Azure engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Azure API Management (APIM).
• Azure App Services.
• Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, and Azure RBAC.
• CI/CD implementation and deployment automation.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Azure networking, DNS, certificates, and service-to-service connectivity.
• Application and API security.
• Azure Monitor, logging, and operational monitoring.
• Git-based development workflows.
• Python and REST API integration experience.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
• Azure Key Vault.
• Application Insights.
• Private Endpoints and VNet Integration.
• AI, LLM, or data platform environments.
• Databricks integration.
• Secure financial services or regulated industry experience.
