Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for a Contract with a client in Durham, NC (Remote). The ideal candidate will be responsiblefor designing and developing end-to-end Power BI reporting solutions, operational dashboards, and scalable data architectures that support enterprise analytics, data governance, and MDM initiatives.

Rate Range: $50/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports using data from Prophecy MDM/RDM platforms to provide actionable business insights.
• Build operational and executive-level dashboards to monitor data quality, governance metrics, master data performance, and key business KPIs.
• Develop scalable semantic data models, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting architectures that support enterprise-wide analytics initiatives.
• Collaborate with data architects, business stakeholders, and governance teams to create trusted reporting datasets aligned with MDM and data strategy objectives.
• Optimize Power BI datasets, data models, and report performance for large-scale, complex, and rapidly evolving data environments.
• Support data governance, lineage, cataloging, and AI-readiness initiatives while translating hierarchical and master data structures into meaningful visualizations and reporting solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Master Data Management (MDM) reporting solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, dashboard development, report optimization, and enterprise-scale reporting solutions.
• Experience with Prophecy MDM/RDM (or similar MDM platforms), SQL, ETL/ELT development, data warehousing, and data governance principles, with the ability to build scalable reporting architectures and hierarchical data models.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $53.00 per hour
