Cybersecurity Project Manager | Cybersecurity / IT Project Management | Hybrid | Columbus, OH
Our client is a leading organization in the utilities and energy sector. Based out of Columbus, OH, they are looking to hire a Cybersecurity Project Manager on a Contract basis. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite attendance Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so local candidates are strongly preferred.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys working at the intersection of cybersecurity, technology, and business transformation. You'll lead high-visibility security initiatives that directly impact enterprise risk reduction, compliance, and operational resilience. The ideal candidate brings experience managing complex IT or cybersecurity projects, excels at executive stakeholder communication, and enjoys collaborating across both business and technical teams. This role offers exposure to large-scale enterprise security programs, strong cross-functional engagement, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact while advancing your cybersecurity project management career.
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience
  • Experience leading complex IT or cybersecurity projects
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and SDLC methodologies
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and resource planning
  • Risk, issue, dependency, and change management experience
  • Experience working with executive sponsors and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong business process analysis and process mapping skills
  • Experience creating project documentation including project charters, project plans, and status reports
  • Experience using Jira, ServiceNow, and/or Power BI
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Desired Skills & Experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or PSPO Certification
  • ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Certification
  • Cybersecurity project management experience
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) exposure
  • Experience with Archer
  • Policy and standards management experience
  • Compliance and risk assessment experience
  • Energy or Utilities industry experience

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities
  • Manage full project lifecycles using Agile, Waterfall, and iterative methodologies
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives from planning through deployment and closure
  • Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, status reports, and project artifacts
  • Coordinate activities across cybersecurity, IT, infrastructure, compliance, and business teams
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide executive-level project reporting
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, resource utilization, and project financials
  • Support UAT planning, deployment activities, and change management efforts
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Drive alignment between cybersecurity requirements and business objectives
