The Role • Operate specialized heavy equipment to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks. • Drive hostlers to efficiently position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard. • Utilize equipment such as top loaders, side loaders, and cranes for stacking and organizing containers. • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality. • Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage container movements and tasks effectively. • Uphold a safe work environment by adhering to established protocols and procedures. What You'll Need • A valid driver's license is mandatory. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders and stairs. • Strong commitment to safety protocols and a keen attention to detail. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays. • Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team. • Open availability for scheduling.
