Job Title: Power BI Developer – Capital Markets
Location: New York City, NY (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Job Type: Contract / C2C / W2

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong Capital Markets domain expertise to join our client''s team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise-level dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI while working with trading, risk, investment banking, or financial market data.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of IT experience with 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development.
• Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M), and Data Modeling.
• Experience creating interactive dashboards, KPIs, executive scorecards, and self-service BI solutions.
• Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries and optimizing performance.
• Experience working with large datasets from multiple data sources including SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Azure SQL, or other enterprise databases.
• Strong understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace management, and report deployment.
• Ability to optimize report performance and troubleshoot Power BI issues.

Capital Markets Experience (Mandatory)

• Strong experience supporting Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments.
• Knowledge of financial products such as:
  • Equities
  • Fixed Income
  • Derivatives
  • FX
  • Commodities
• Experience working with:
  • Trade lifecycle
  • Market data
  • Risk & PnL reporting
  • Portfolio analytics
  • Regulatory reporting
• Ability to work closely with Traders, Risk Analysts, Portfolio Managers, and Business Users.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Data Platform or Microsoft Fabric.
• Knowledge of Python or R for analytics is a plus.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines.
• Financial services certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Capital Markets environment.
