The Role

• Lead the design of mechanical systems, sub-systems, and equipment for next-generation submarines.
• Undertake functional design activities, calculations, and analysis, producing design documentation and verification evidence.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers and stakeholders to review documentation and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Provide specialist knowledge to support installation, integration, and commissioning activities.
• Mentor junior engineers within the team.

What You'll Need

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in designing mechanical systems and specifying complex, high-value mechanical equipment.
• Excellent communication skills with a track record of stakeholder engagement at all levels.
• Knowledge of the complete engineering lifecycle, including requirements, system design, integration, and acceptance.
• Good awareness of product safety and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) principles.
