Duration: 12 Months Contract Job Summary:

Lead Enterprise Architect to provide strategic leadership in stabilizing and maturing the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function. This role will oversee Enterprise Architecture teams supporting Corporate Products, Transportation, and Business Architecture while establishing governance, driving modernization initiatives, and integrating AI-assisted delivery practices.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading enterprise architecture programs, implementing governance frameworks, driving cloud modernization, and advising executive leadership in large, complex organizations.

Key Responsibilities Enterprise Architecture Leadership

• Lead and manage Enterprise Architecture teams across Corporate Products, Transportation, and Business Architecture.
• Establish operational processes including architecture intake, prioritization, architecture reviews, and decision support.
• Mentor architects and promote architectural best practices across product teams.

EA Governance & Operating Model

• Develop and implement Enterprise Architecture governance, standards, and engagement models.
• Establish architecture review boards and decision-making frameworks.
• Drive enterprise-wide architecture consistency and governance.

Modernization & AI Strategy

• Align Enterprise Architecture with modernization initiatives.
• Integrate AI-driven architecture methodologies into enterprise architecture workflows.
• Assess current EA capabilities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications Enterprise Architecture

• 15+ years leading Enterprise Architecture teams and enterprise-wide architecture initiatives.
• 10+ years implementing Enterprise Architecture frameworks including:
  • TOGAF
  • DoDAF
  • UAF
  • BEA
  • ETP

Systems Engineering & Modernization

• 15+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
• 7+ years of Cloud Architecture experience (AWS and Google Cloud).
• 5+ years implementing Zero Trust Architecture (NIST ZT).
• 10+ years designing Microservices and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).

AI & Emerging Technologies

• 3+ years integrating AI into Enterprise Architecture methodologies, modernization programs, and decision support.

Leadership & Advisory

• 10+ years advising CIOs, CTOs, and executive leadership on Enterprise Architecture strategy.
• 10+ years mentoring Enterprise Architects and building high-performing architecture teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enterprise Architecture consulting experience within Federal or State government environments.
• Experience supporting IT acquisition reform and enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Proven success stabilizing and maturing Enterprise Architecture organizations.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 20+ years of total experience in Enterprise Architecture, Systems Engineering, or Technology Modernization leadership.
