We are looking to recruit an SC Cleared DevOps Engineer to join a leading technology consultancy.

You will join a team working on an exciting project. Due to the nature of the work valid SC Clearance is required.

The programme is delivering new capabilities and enhancements to a bespoke Node.js application.

This is a DevOps-focused position rather than a traditional software development role. You will work closely with software engineers, architects and technical leads to improve deployment processes, platform reliability, security and operational performance.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite attendance in Cheltenham two to three days per week. Travel expenses will be covered through an agreed travel allowance.

The role

You will be responsible for supporting and improving the delivery and operation of a containerised application environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines
• Supporting application deployments across production and non-production environments
• Managing and troubleshooting OpenShift and Kubernetes environments
• Automating operational and deployment processes
• Improving platform reliability, resilience, security and performance
• Supporting the efficient release of new software capabilities
• Investigating and resolving application and environment issues
• Contributing to technical scoping, estimation and delivery planning
• Promoting DevOps best practices across the wider programme
• Working closely with development teams to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable solutions

Essential experience

We are looking for candidates with strong experience in several of the following areas:

• OpenShift
• Kubernetes
• Docker
• CI/CD pipelines
• DevOps automation
• Production and non-production environment support
• Node.js
• JavaScript
• Troubleshooting containerised applications
• Platform reliability and operational resilience

Experience supporting Node.js applications would be particularly valuable, although the role is primarily focused on DevOps, deployment and platform responsibilities.
