Project Manager with MDM or MDG Experience

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager with deep expertise in Master Data Management (MDM/MDG) and EDI or systems integration to lead enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives. This role is critical for modernizing core systems that manage product, vendor, and customer data, ensuring seamless data flow across merchandising, supply chain, eCommerce, and partner ecosystems .

Lead the planning, execution, and end-to-end delivery of MDM, Data Governance, and integration programs 

Define program scope, objectives, success metrics, timelines, and budgets

Oversee the implementation of MDM solutions (SAP MDG, Informatica, Oracle MDM, or similar platforms) ensuring alignment with business requirements 

Provide strategic direction and oversight of EDI systems and API/Integration initiatives 

MDM & Data Governance

Drive MDM and Data Governance workstreams focused on improving data accuracy, speed, and automation 

Implement data governance policies for core data domains – including product hierarchy, item attributes, vendor master, pricing, and promotions 

Define and enforce policies for data quality, ownership, lineage, access control, and metadata management 

Enable data stewardship workflows, match & merge rules, and exception management 

EDI & Integration Management

Partner with buying, planning, and supply chain teams to streamline vendor onboarding and support seamless EDI integration for PO, invoice, ASN, and inventory feeds 

Oversee documentation processes for integration changes and updates 

Manage product release cycles and coordinate between teams for smooth rollouts and client transitions 

Develop integration frameworks for legacy and modern systems using tools like MuleSoft, Informatica, or similar platforms 

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Develop and maintain strong client and vendor relationships, acting as a trusted advisor 

Drive regular status updates, communication plans, and training materials to support organizational readiness 

Manage escalations and conflicts to keep projects on track 

Organize and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) for MDM platforms and EDI transactions

Project Governance & Risk Management

 

Apply project governance frameworks ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives 

Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations 

Identify potential risks, dependencies, and roadblocks early; implement mitigation strategies 

Track and report development/onboarding status to teams and clients 

10+ years of experience in program/project management, with at least 5+ years in MDM, Data Governance, or Enterprise Data Management leadership roles 

Proven experience managing complex IT and/or business transformation projects 

Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) principles and practices 

Experience with EDI standards (e.g., 850, 810, 856) and vendor onboarding processes 

Hands-on implementation experience with MDM platforms such as:

SAP MDG (SAP MDG solutions) 

Informatica MDM/IDMC 

Oracle MDM solutions (ERP, CDH, CDM) 

Experience with integration tools (MuleSoft, Informatica PowerCenter, REST APIs, etc.) 

Strong leadership and team management abilities 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

Proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence) 

Experience in facilitating workshops and training sessions 

Ability to manage project budgets and resources efficiently 

Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating project risks 

Client-focused mindset with commitment to delivering high-quality solutions 

Bachelor''s degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or related field 

Master''s degree is a plus 

Certifications (Preferred)

PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is plus

Experience in retail operations, merchandising systems, or enterprise transformation projects 

Familiarity with retail data domains: SKU/item setup, vendor master, store data, and pricing 

Knowledge of omnichannel retail operations and digital fulfillment 

Experience working with third-party solution providers for MDM or EDI 

Knowledge of the latest trends in SAP MDG technology 

Familiarity with data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica CDGC)
