The Role • Provide comprehensive mechanical engineering support across a wide range of platform systems, including fluid, hydraulic, HVAC, firefighting, propulsion, and mechanical drive systems. • Lead structured analysis, maintain configuration control, and prepare authoritative safety evidence for diverse naval platforms. • Act as a primary technical contact, collaborating with stakeholders such as MOD teams, overseas navies, and OEMs to capture and guide system requirements. • Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to a wide range of platform projects across multiple systems and sub-systems. • Provide effective line management for a team of engineers, ensuring clear leadership and professional development. • Contribute to high-quality assurance, transformation, and consultancy activities within the Warship Technical Authority. What You'll Need • Broad knowledge of complex platform systems across UK and international markets. • Good understanding of applicable industry standards and experience within governance and assurance frameworks. • Proven ability to apply mechanical engineering knowledge quickly and confidently to diverse projects. • Experienced professional engineer, ideally at CEng level or equivalent capability. • Experience leading and managing engineering teams, including performance oversight and development. • Familiarity with system integration, design integrity, and delivering engineering solutions.
