Job Overview

Client  is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership in designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-scale digital platforms hosted on AWS. The role will focus on backend RESTful APIs and microservices while driving architecture, engineering best practices, and end-to-end software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design and development of RESTful APIs and microservices using Java 21+, Spring Boot, Apigee, and AWS.

•Architect API-first solutions, including service contracts, payload schemas, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

•Translate business requirements into technical designs, user stories, and development tasks.

•Design secure service-to-service integrations using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and authorization models.

•Lead architecture decisions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.

•Collaborate with Product Owners, UI teams, architects, and partner development teams.

•Establish best practices for scalability, reliability, observability, security, and maintainability.

•Drive automated testing, performance testing, load testing, and production readiness.

•Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues.

•Own the complete software lifecycle from design and development through deployment, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.

•Create technical documentation, operational runbooks, and engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of software development experience.

•Strong experience with software development, product design, and architecture.

•Strong decision-making and critical-thinking skills.

•Extensive experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot REST API development.

•Experience with API management/gateway platforms, preferably Apigee.

•Experience deploying and maintaining applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
