Job Title:  Java Developer

• Duration: 6+ month contract
• Location: Must be local to New York City (Interview is Onsite) with Coding Test/ROPES
• Schedule: Hybrid 1-2 days

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integration solutions that connect various systems and applications across the organization. This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, API protocols, microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services, along with best practices in system integration.
A key focus of this role is designing and supporting integration workflows and infrastructure documentation across multiple teams. This includes data mapping, resolving integration challenges, and translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Key Responsibilities

• Design & Develop Integration Solutions
  Build scalable, secure, and high-performing integration solutions using Java, REST APIs, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform services.
• API Management
  Design, develop, test, and maintain APIs to ensure reliable communication across systems.
• Monitoring Integration
  Integrate applications with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic.
• Cloud Services
  Leverage Google Cloud Platform services including Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery to support integration architecture.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  Partner with development, DevOps, architecture teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshooting & Support
  Diagnose and resolve integration and application issues to ensure system stability and performance.
• Documentation
  Develop and maintain clear documentation for integration processes, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Security & Compliance
  Ensure all solutions comply with security standards, governance policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of systems or software development experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Experience integrating applications with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Hands-on experience containerizing applications and deploying to Kubernetes in cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic.
• Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and data integration concepts.
• Strong API development experience and familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred; Azure or AWS acceptable).
• Experience with development tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, Maven, Gradle, and Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket, Bamboo).
• Exposure to Redis and NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Linux environments.
• Knowledge of retail systems such as warehouse management, allocation, and merchandising is ideal
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
