Java Developer (Angular & SQL) – Remote

Prominent is seeking a Java Developer for a 100% remote, contract-to-hire opportunity with a Fortune-ranked global professional services and consulting organization. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys troubleshooting complex application issues, enhancing existing systems, and delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java, Spring Framework, SQL, and Angular, along with a passion for problem-solving and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve application support and helpdesk tickets related to enterprise systems.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and fix application defects and production issues.
• Develop and implement data-fix scripts to resolve system and data integrity issues.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Framework.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to implement system enhancements and change requests.
• Create reports and analyze production trends to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
• Perform code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable software delivery.
• Support ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java development.
• Experience with Spring Framework and/or Spring Boot.
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and data analysis.
• Experience developing or supporting Angular applications.

• Experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM).
• Experience creating and executing data-fix scripts.
