Job Description

Job Title: Corrosion & Integrity Engineer Duration: 1 year Contract (No FTE conversion) Location: Chatsworth, CA or Pico Rivera, CA Hybrid (4-days in office and 1-day remote)

Job Summary:
Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure, or system. Develops functional requirements. Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates. Designs and tests components and integrate components to produce final product. Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.

Duties:
-Specializes in pipeline and equipment corrosion. Knowledge of pipeline integrity procedures and systems.
-Responsible for monitoring platforms corrosion and maintaining mitigation policies.
-Maintains pipeline integrity by carrying out cathodic protection programs.
-Implements and updates corrosion strategies, arranges material investigations.
-May be responsible for maintenance and repair of cathodic protection systems, pigging operations, coordination of pipeline service and in-line inspection, and ensuring documentation and records are maintained.

Education:
-BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil Engineering Required. NACE CP1 Certification highly desired.

IV Process:
-Multiple rounds of interviews with host manager and 3 supervisor- panel style

Some Notes on the Role:
-No FTE conversion
-Hybrid. 4-days in office and 1-day remote. Work location may be Chatsworth (1) or Pico Rivera (2)

Top skills Desired:
(1) Demonstrated experience in Fitness-for-Service evaluations for corrosion, dents, and crack features. (e.g. API-579, CorLAS, RSTRENG, MAT-8, etc.)
(2) Advanced knowledge of ILI and Direct Assessment (DA), Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) methods/practices and pipeline repair. Includes evaluation and decisions based on assessment data.
(3) Detail-oriented
(4) Good relationship building and communication skills
