Job Description

Description The Senior Network Engineer will support mission-critical network infrastructure within a secure federal environment. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and is focused on the design, implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of enterprise network systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, network security, performance monitoring, and documentation while supporting highly available and secure network operations. What You Will Do

  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, routing, switching, firewall , wireless, and related network technologies.
  • Perform day-to-day network operations and maintenance, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle support.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues affecting availability, performance, connectivity, latency, and security across classified and unclassified environments.
  • Develop, review, and maintain network architecture diagrams, topology maps, configuration documentation, implementation plans, standard operating procedures, and as-built documentation.
  • Plan and execute network changes through established change management processes while minimizing operational risk and downtime.
  • Support network security requirements, including secure configuration baselines, access control, vulnerability remediation, STIG compliance, POA&M support, and coordination with cybersecurity teams.
  • Evaluate network hardware, software, and transport solutions and provide recommendations for upgrades, modernization, resiliency, and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and mission partners to translate requirements into secure and scalable network solutions.
  • Support accreditation, audit, and compliance activities by providing technical artifacts, configuration data, ports/protocols/services information, and network security documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and operations personnel as needed. What We Expect of You
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required .
  • U.S. citizenship required due to federal security requirements.
  • Senior-level hands-on experience supporting enterprise network engineering, network operations, or infrastructure engineering in federal, defense, intelligence, or similarly secure environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of routing and switching concepts, including VLANs, trunking , subnetting, routing protocols, high availability, redundancy, and network segmentation.
  • Experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Cisco or comparable network platforms, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, wireless systems, and network management tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network problems across physical, virtual, and transport layers using logs, packet captures, monitoring tools, and command-line diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity and compliance practices, including DISA STIGs, vulnerability remediation, secure configuration management, and RMF/ATO support.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation, diagrams, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to brief technical issues, risks, and recommendations to engineering teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a secure, mission-focused environment while managing multiple priorities and operational requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, is a plus.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ CE, or ability to obtain within program requirements, is a plus.
  • Active CCNP certification, is a plus.
  • Experience with network automation, configuration management, scripting, or orchestration tools, is a plus.
  • Experience supporting classified networks, multi-enclave environments, cross-domain considerations, or secure transport solutions, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with INFOSEC, COMSEC, encryption, zero trust principles, and secure network design practices, is a plus.
  • Experience with network monitoring and logging tools such as SNMP, SYSLOG, NetFlow, SolarWinds, Splunk, or comparable platforms, is a plus. Pay range: $160,000 - $220,000 depending on experience and skill set.
