Job Description

The Programmer Analyst III is responsible for analyzing, supporting, and enhancing core business processes through technology. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of IT systems critical to operations. The position collaborates with IT teams and stakeholders to deliver system enhancements, resolve issues, and provide ongoing support for enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Define business and technical requirements with decision makers and end users.

  • System Support: Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring compatibility with organizational standards.

  • Application Development: Design, develop, and deploy packaged applications, custom-built software, and enhancements using .NET technologies.

  • Database Management: Write, optimize, and debug SQL queries and stored procedures in Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Integration & APIs: Implement SOAP, WCF, and SOA-based web services for enterprise interoperability.

  • Documentation & Training: Prepare system models, specifications, and provide training to end users.

  • Mentorship: Serve as a senior developer resource, guiding and supporting junior IT team members.

 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (equivalent experience considered).

  • Preferred: Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional programming/development experience.

 

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET ecosystem (C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC).

  • Strong experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL.

  • Knowledge of Entity Framework and modern .NET versions (5/6+).

  • Experience with web-based solutions (PWAs, service workers).

  • Familiarity with SOAP, WCF, SOA concepts.

  • Source control experience with GitHub.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms.

  • Exposure to transit/workforce management systems (Trapeze FX, INFO-Web, GIRO HASTUS).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to improve business processes through technology.
