Job Description

Job Title: Hyper V Engineer (SC Cleared)

Role Type: Contract

Duration: Short-term

Location: Warrington

Our client is looking for an experienced SC Cleared Hyper-V Engineer to support a customer with Hyper-V deployment activities. You will work onsite during the deployment phase, following a detailed runbook and providing hands-on, over-the-shoulder support to the customer team.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy Hyper-V roles and supporting services.
  • Configure Hyper-V virtual Switches, adapters and QoS rules.
  • Validate storage accessibility and connectivity.
  • Run the cluster configuration wizard, including quorum configuration.
  • Investigate and resolve cluster configuration issues.
  • Build a test virtual machine and demonstrate VM failover between hosts.
  • Demonstrate Hyper-V Replica between clusters to support future migration activity.

Essential Experience

  • Active SC Clearance.
  • Strong hands-on Hyper-V deployment experience.
  • Experience with Hyper-V Failover Clustering, quorum, networking and storage integration.
  • Knowledge of Hyper-V Replica and virtual machine migration scenarios.
  • Confident customer-facing skills and ability to provide knowledge transfer during deployment.
