Assistant Controller/Sr Accountant

 

We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a fast-growing, multi-division organization. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can take ownership of key accounting functions today and has the ability and ambition to grow into a Controller role. Work closely with the Controller and CFO, this person will help lead accounting operations, financial reporting, controls, and process improvements while gaining broader responsibility as the organization grows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead key areas of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Maintain GL integrity, reconciliations, and accurate financial reporting.
• Support multi-division and consolidated financial reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting across AP, AR, payroll, cash, and general accounting.
• Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and SOPs.
• Support audits, tax requirements, and compliance.
• Analyze job costs, WIP, margins, and profitability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and KPIs.
• Improve ERP workflows, reporting, automation, and accounting processes.
• Partner with operations and leadership to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
• Provide guidance and oversight to accounting team members.
• Take on broader accounting leadership responsibilities with a path toward the Controller role.

What We’re Looking For:

• 8 + years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar senior accounting role.
• Strong GAAP, financial reporting, GL, close, reconciliation, and internal control experience.
• Experience overseeing AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting operations.
• Multi-division, construction, project-based, job costing, or WIP experience preferred.
• Strong ERP/accounting systems and process improvement experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, growing organization.
