Job Description

We are looking for an experienced AI & Data Engineer with expertise in Python, computer vision, OCR, and Azure AI services to develop AI-powered solutions for extracting and standardizing equipment asset data from photographs.

The ideal candidate will build reliable data extraction pipelines, validate AI-generated outputs against source images, and maintain 95% or higher data accuracy while ensuring that unsupported values are never accepted.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop image-processing pipelines for image quality checks, nameplate detection, and image enhancement.
• Extract structured data using Azure AI Document Intelligence, Azure OpenAI GPT-4o Vision, or similar technologies.
• Implement validation rules to prevent unsupported or fabricated values.
• Standardize manufacturer names, asset types, SAP characteristic codes, and measurement units.
• Develop confidence-scoring mechanisms and human-review workflows.
• Implement duplicate detection using image matching and serial numbers.
• Conduct acceptance testing, measure extraction accuracy, and prepare monthly reports.
• Collaborate with client teams on data standards and requirements.
• Retest AI model changes using client sample images and maintain data privacy.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Machine Learning, including 2+ years developing production-grade document or image extraction systems.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with OpenCV, Pillow, or similar libraries.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI Document Intelligence, AWS Textract, or equivalent OCR services.
• Experience with AI vision models, structured data extraction, and data validation.
• Knowledge of data standardization, entity matching, and controlled reference lists.
• Experience measuring field-level accuracy and presenting results to business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM), IBM Maximo, or other enterprise asset management experience.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment, water, wastewater, or utility systems.
• Microsoft AI-102 or DP-203 certification.
• Experience with human-in-the-loop review processes and audit trails.
