Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate combines the mindset of a VR engineer, 3D technologist, and AI innovator. They understand not only how to build high-quality VR applications, but also how the underlying components work together-from Unity and Android to 3D assets and rendering.

Most importantly, this person should be able to look at the traditional VR development process and determine how AI can fundamentally make that process faster, smarter, and more scalable.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Virtual Reality / AI Engineer to design, develop, and enhance next-generation Virtual Reality experiences. This individual will need a strong understanding of how VR applications are architected and built from the ground up, with hands-on expertise in Unity, Android-based VR environments, Windows development, Blender/3D graphics, and Artificial Intelligence.

The ideal candidate is not simply a VR application developer-they should understand the entire VR development lifecycle and be able to leverage AI and Generative AI technologies to accelerate development, automate workflows, and improve how immersive experiences are created and delivered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize immersive Virtual Reality applications and experiences using Unity.
  • Understand and contribute to the complete VR architecture and development lifecycle, from concept and 3D asset creation through application development, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop VR solutions primarily within an Android-based runtime/environment, while also supporting development workflows and tooling within Windows environments.
  • Utilize Unity as the primary development platform for building interactive VR applications.
  • Work with Blender and other 3D/graphics development tools to create, modify, optimize, and integrate 3D models, environments, animations, and graphical assets.
  • Integrate Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI capabilities into VR development and production workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI to accelerate VR development, including faster prototyping, asset generation, automation, content creation, testing, and optimization.
  • Explore AI-assisted approaches for generating or modifying 3D assets, environments, interactions, animations, and immersive content.
  • Partner with engineering, design, AI, and product teams to determine how emerging AI capabilities can improve VR experiences and development velocity.
  • Develop performant VR experiences optimized for Android-based VR hardware, including considerations around rendering, memory, frame rates, latency, and overall user experience.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving Unity, VR frameworks, graphics/rendering, Android environments, and device integration.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies across VR, spatial computing, Generative AI, and 3D development and determine how they can be incorporated into future solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience developing Virtual Reality applications and immersive experiences.
  • Unity development experience is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of VR architecture and how complete VR applications are designed, developed, integrated, and deployed.
  • Experience developing VR applications for Android-based systems/devices.
  • Strong experience working within Windows development environments.
  • Experience with Blender, including 3D modeling, graphical development, asset creation, modification, and/or optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and AI-assisted development techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement ways that AI can accelerate software, VR, and content-development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of 3D graphics, rendering, animation, spatial environments, and interactive experiences.
  • Experience optimizing VR applications for performance-constrained devices.
  • Strong software engineering, debugging, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with modern VR/XR hardware and SDKs such as Meta Quest, OpenXR, or similar platforms.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML models or Generative AI services into interactive applications.
  • Knowledge of computer vision, spatial computing, 3D reconstruction, procedural generation, or AI-generated 3D content.
  • Experience with Unity development using C#.
  • Experience with Android SDKs, APIs, device integration, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with real-time rendering pipelines, shaders, lighting, textures, animation, and 3D optimization.
  • Experience developing AI-powered tools that improve developer or designer productivity.
