Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Project) Location: Mid County Derry Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Industry: Engineering / Metal Fabrication and Machinery What's in it for you? £55,000 - £65,000 basic salary Company sick pay Flexible working hours Monday to Friday days with an early finish on Friday Permanent position HN12803 Company and Role of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Project) Vickerstock are working in partnership with a successful and growing engineering and manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their Mid County Derry operation. This is a senior, hands-on engineering position within a business involved in the design and manufacture of bespoke fabricated products and equipment / machinery. We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers, Senior Design Engineers, Lead Design Engineers or Project Design Engineers who have a strong mechanical design background and experience taking complex engineering projects from initial concept and detailed design through to manufacture. You will take technical responsibility for engineering design projects, working closely with other Engineers and the wider manufacturing operation to ensure designs are practical, technically robust and suitable for manufacture. Key Responsibilities for this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer position Lead mechanical design projects from concept through detailed design and manufacture Produce and review 3D designs, engineering drawings and technical documentation Carry out engineering calculations to validate designs Ensure designs are suitable for manufacture within a heavy fabrication environment Provide technical guidance and support to other Engineers and Designers Work closely with Manufacturing and other internal departments throughout project delivery Support design improvements, problem solving and new product development Essential Criteria for this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer position 6+ years' experience within Mechanical Design / Project Design Engineering Strong experience designing products, equipment or machinery within a manufacturing environment Good understanding of heavy fabrication, manufacturing drawings and Design for Manufacture Ability to carry out structural, stress and strain calculations, with experience using FEA / CAE analysis tools Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification within Mechanical Engineering or another relevant Engineering discipline If you are a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Lead Design Engineer, Project Design Engineer or Design Manager with a strong mechanical design and manufacturing background, we would be keen to speak with you.
