Title: Software Engineer (AWS & Security)

Location: DC Metro Area/Rockville, MD/McLean, VA (Hybrid 3 days onsite with 2 days remote)

Duration: 6 Months with possible extension

Interview Process: Coding Assessment and then In-Person (MUST)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to develop internal security tools and cloud automation solutions that enhance Cyber Information Security (CIS) operations. This role combines software engineering, AWS cloud development, and security engineering to build scalable applications, APIs, and automation that improve security, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, security engineering, or DevSecOps.

Strong development experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

Experience building web applications, REST APIs, or backend services.

Hands-on experience developing applications in AWS cloud environments.

Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile methodologies.

Knowledge of application security concepts including authentication, authorization, encryption, secure coding, and vulnerability management.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related STEM field (or equivalent experience).
