Role Description This is a full-time Technical Writer IV position. Applicants must be located in VA, NC, MD or FL and have an active secret clearance. The Technical Writer will produce and manage compliant documentation including proposals. Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with researching, drafting, and editing technical proposal sections, responses to RFIs/RFPs, and white papers – often with tight deadlines.
- Ensuring that all deliverables adhere to requirements and solicitation instructions.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts and project managers to translate complex technical concepts into clear and accurate deliverables. • Analyzing requirements specifications and assessing capabilities for delivering compliant products and services. • Reviewing and editing documents for clarity, accuracy, formatting, and strict version control. This will be a W-2 position and can be virtual / remote. Essential Requirements
- Must have active secret clearance.
- Must be located in VA, NC, MD or FL. • Minimum 12 years of technical experience (can include experience in other technical positions – not limited to tech writer jobs)
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and highly professional demeanor.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and co-operatively in team efforts.
- Ability and willingness to be flexible with frequently changing priorities on short notice, follow instructions and communicate in a clear and timely manner.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. Desirable attributes:
- Available to start before the middle of July.
- Experience with government contract terminology, compliance regulations, and standard proposal processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, or any other technical degree.
- Experience and proficiency with document management tools like Box and SharePoint.
