Registered Nurse ED

• Delivers rapid, high-acuity emergency care and continuous monitoring to diverse patient populations presenting with acute medical conditions and trauma.
• Performs rapid triage, primary and secondary trauma assessments, and emergency stabilization procedures in accordance with Level 4 trauma protocols.
• Administers emergency medications, manages complex IV/IO access, and assists physicians with bedside diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Prepares, stabilizes, and coordinates urgent inter-facility transfers for critical trauma and medical patients requiring higher level specialty care.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (GN) obtained prior to start date or job transfer date is required-OR-Temporary or Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date-OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
