Job Description

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As Marketing Officer, you will report to our External Relations Manager, playing a central role in driving Get Further's visibility and growth through maintaining our digital platforms and driving campaigns focused on forming and retaining partnerships.

You will help Get Further to reach more students by designing and delivering creative multi-channel B2B marketing campaigns that promote our tuition programmes, CPD and curriculum resources to FE colleges, training providers and councils.

You will also be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and maintenance of our digital channels, creating compelling written, graphic, photographic and video content, managing our website and email marketing, and using analytics to refine and strengthen performance.

Alongside digital delivery, you will contribute to our wider work by creating collateral for and supporting with the delivery of conferences and events, sourcing stories from the students and teachers we support, collaborating with our fundraising and recruitment teams on their campaigns, and supporting our wider team to deliver impactful and brand aligned external communications.

Key responsibilities include:

Marketing Campaigns & Partnerships

  • Plan and deliver multichannel B2B marketing campaigns that attract new partners and support renewals, using social media (primarily LinkedIn), email marketing, letter campaigns and other channels creatively and strategically.
  • Use audience maps, value propositions and key messaging guides to tailor content to our different audiences (FE colleges, training providers and councils), ensuring alignment with the Get Further brand.
  • Lead the creation of high quality marketing collateral (leaflets, banners, videos, case studies, graphics) that strengthens our brand and supports direct sales.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events and campaigns that showcase Get Further's mission, impact and thought leadership.
  • Use a marketing funnel to track and analyse lead generation and conversion, making data-driven recommendations that allow the marketing and sales teams to improve processes.
  • Coordinate award submissions that raise the organisation's profile, working with colleagues to compile compelling applications.

Digital Content & Platform Management

  • Plan and deliver high quality, creative social media content and campaigns that advance our digital strategy and deepen audience engagement.
  • Design engaging graphic and video assets using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and other tools.
  • Capture high quality photo and video content of events and programmes in action.
  • Maintain and update the Get Further website, using WordPress to optimise content, improve user experience and reflect organisational priorities.
  • Support with the creation and publication of blog content, including drafting, editing, proofreading and uploading posts.
  • Track and analyse the performance of digital content and campaigns, using analytics tools to generate insights and recommend data driven improvements.
  • Play an active role in shaping our digital content strategy - identifying new opportunities, spotting trends in audience behaviour, and proposing creative approaches to strengthen engagement and reach.

Storytelling and impact reporting

  • Support the promotion of Get Further's impact reports through digital content and event delivery.
  • Work with colleagues to source powerful stories from students and teachers, developing and ensuring all content aligns with our ethical storytelling policy

Branding & Team Support

  • Assist colleagues with the design of external documents and assets, ensuring they are user friendly, professional and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Create and maintain written guides, templates, trainings and brand tools that help the team communicate consistently and confidently.
  • Respond to internal requests for branding and communication support.
  • Work with the Fundraising Officer to maintain an organised central library of storytelling assets, including narrative content, photos and videos.
  • Support recruitment campaigns by creating content that showcases the benefits of working at Get Further.

Person specification

We are seeking a highly-motivated, detail-oriented and creative Marketing Officer who is eager to progress their career in education charity communications.

You will be a compelling storyteller who cares deeply about communicating the experiences of the young people and adults we support, and has a strong set of written, video editing and design skills that enable you to tell these stories with clarity and impact.

You will be ambitious to take on a leading role in driving our marketing activities, proactively generating and sharing ideas, and bringing a strong set of project management skills that enable you to take ownership on campaigns - from concept, to delivery to evaluation.

You will take pride in delivering excellent campaigns and eager to continuously learn and improve. You will have a critical eye for your own work, double and triple checking every aspect to ensure high-quality output, proactively seeking feedback and setting aside time to reflect and evaluate within a busy workload. You will be confident using data to understand performance and analytically minded in using insights to improve both your work and make recommendations for how the wider organisation can improve our strategy and processes.

You will be curious to learn about our organisation and audiences, proactively seeking opportunities to learn more about who we are and what we do so that you can communicate about our work to the highest standard and develop a coherent strategic vision for our marketing work.

Your strong time management skills will mean that you are comfortable working at pace and have the agility to respond to changing priorities and contexts.
