Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior DB2 DBA with strong expertise in DB2 database administration, OpenShift/Kubernetes, performance tuning, and database migration. The consultant will support the cDB2 migration to DB2 on OpenShift (Db2U) for the Enterprise Business View (EBV) platform.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing DB2 databases in enterprise environments and working closely with application, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to ensure database availability, performance, scalability, and stability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA.
• Strong experience with IBM DB2 on z/OS and/or DB2 LUW.
• Practical hands-on experience with DB2/Db2U on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in query analysis and performance tuning.
• Experience with DB2 database performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with CRON and ESP or similar enterprise job scheduling tools.
• Experience with database backup, restore, recovery, and maintenance activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with application, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with IBM Q Replication (QREP) for DB2.
• Experience configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting QREP.
• Experience with large-scale DB2 migrations.
• Experience with database modernization or cloud/container migration projects.
• Experience supporting enterprise banking or financial services platforms
• Experience working with highly available, mission-critical database environments
