The Role • Operate heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to efficiently move shipping containers. • Safely load and unload containers from railcars and trucks as a critical part of daily logistics operations. • Drive hostlers to precisely position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard. • Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality. • Collaborate effectively with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate container movements and tasks. • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established safety protocols and procedures. What You'll Need • A valid driver's license is required for consideration. • Prior experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred. • A strong commitment to safety and a keen attention to detail. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including potential night shifts and weekends, determined by union seniority. • Basic communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
