Job Title: Dynatrace Engineer/Administrator
Location: Mississauga, ON, Canada (REMOTE)
Employment Type: Long term contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Dynatrace Engineer to design, configure, administer, and optimize our Dynatrace monitoring platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing application performance monitoring (APM), infrastructure monitoring, dashboards, alerting, reporting, and integrations. The role involves collaborating with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure proactive monitoring and rapid issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and maintain the Dynatrace platform.
* Configure OneAgent deployment across servers, containers, and cloud environments.
* Create and maintain monitoring for applications, services, databases, APIs, and infrastructure.
* Design custom dashboards for different business and technical stakeholders.
* Develop scheduled reports and executive performance reports.
* Configure alerting, problem detection, anomaly detection, and notification channels.
* Create custom metrics, calculated services, request attributes, and management zones.
* Build Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and availability reports.
* Configure Synthetic Monitoring for web applications and APIs.
* Configure Real User Monitoring (RUM) where applicable.
* Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, PagerDuty, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.
* Support cloud monitoring across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
* Monitor Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and microservices environments.
* Analyze application performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
* Work closely with DevOps and development teams during deployments and incident investigations.
* Maintain monitoring standards, documentation, and best practices.
* Provide operational support and troubleshooting for Dynatrace-related issues.

* Knowledge of networking concepts (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, SSL, TCP/IP).
* Experience with REST APIs.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
* Experience with Kubernetes and container monitoring.
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, etc.).
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with scripting using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
* Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
* Experience integrating Dynatrace with enterprise monitoring and ITSM platforms.
* Knowledge of SRE and observability best practices.
* Understanding of OpenTelemetry is an advantage.
