Job Description

Transformation Project Manager – Country Planning

Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to Dublin HQ & European markets (2 days fortnightly which can be fully expensed)

Duration: Initial 4 Months

Contract Type: Inside IR35

Shape the operational future of Primark's European markets by turning central strategy into actionable, local country plans.

We're looking for a Transformation Project Manager to act as a crucial bridge between our central strategy team in Dublin and in-country leadership, driving the operationalisation, translation, and rollout of our country-planning process across 15–16 European markets.

This is a highly delivery-focused role, ideal for someone who excels at turning strategy into action. Working as the bridge between Primark's central Strategy team and Country Leads, you'll translate existing strategic priorities into practical, country-level plans while establishing a repeatable planning process that can be embedded across the business.

Rather than creating strategy from scratch, you'll focus on implementation, stakeholder engagement and delivery, ensuring each market has a clear, actionable plan that aligns with both central priorities and local business needs.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of Primark's Country Planning process across multiple European markets
  • Translate central strategic initiatives into practical, market-level Country Plans tailored to local priorities
  • Own the delivery of the first set of Country Plans for your assigned markets, ensuring consistency and high-quality outputs
  • Facilitate workshops and planning sessions with Country Leads and senior stakeholders to build alignment and secure buy-in
  • Coordinate closely with the Group Strategy team, acting as the link between central strategy and in-country execution
  • Consolidate existing strategic initiatives, market insights and country priorities into a single, actionable planning framework
  • Develop repeatable templates, governance, playbooks and guidance to enable Country Leads to own the process going forward
  • Support knowledge transfer and handover, ensuring the planning process becomes an embedded internal capability
  • Manage multiple country workstreams simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while maintaining delivery momentum

What We're Looking For

  • 5-8+ years' experience in Programme Delivery, Business Transformation, Strategy Execution, Project Management or Management Consulting
  • Proven experience implementing business strategy or transformation programmes across multiple stakeholders or markets
  • Strong delivery mindset with the ability to turn strategic direction into practical execution plans
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders and influencing across matrix organisations
  • Experience facilitating workshops and driving alignment across business functions and country teams
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working across European or international markets is highly desirable
  • Retail, FMCG or consumer-facing industry experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Highly organised, commercially aware and able to operate independently with minimal direction

If you're a delivery-focused transformation professional who enjoys bringing structure to complex programmes, working with senior stakeholders and turning strategy into practical execution, we'd love to hear from you.
