Job Title: Senior Program Manager (Project/Program Manager IT 4)

Location-Primary Location: Chicago, IL (Preferred)

Work Arrangement

•Currently remote with as-needed onsite attendance.

•Candidates should be prepared for the role to transition to 5 days/week onsite in the Chicago office if business needs change.

Duration

•12-Month Contract (Extension Possible)

•8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT

Travel

•Approximately 10%

•Travel may include Denver, Chicago, Miami, Peoria, Slovakia, and India.

About the Role

Client is looking  Digital User Experience organization is seeking a Senior Program Manager to drive strategic programs supporting software development initiatives within the e-commerce platform. This position focuses on improving operational excellence, delivery execution, planning, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Platform, UX Design, and Research teams.

This is not strictly a UX Program Management role. Candidates with strong software development program management experience are highly encouraged to apply. Experience managing UX teams is not required.

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, influences without direct authority, and successfully delivers complex software programs involving multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead large-scale software development programs throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

•Drive planning, execution, tracking, and delivery of strategic initiatives supporting Caterpillar''s e-commerce products.

•Build scalable operational processes and improve delivery efficiency across cross-functional teams.

•Develop project roadmaps, schedules, communication plans, and governance processes.

•Manage project risks, dependencies, issues, and resource planning.

•Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Platform, UX Design, and Research organizations.

•Influence cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.

•Facilitate collaboration, remove delivery bottlenecks, and align stakeholders.

•Provide executive-level project reporting and status updates.

•Successfully navigate ambiguity while maintaining strong execution and delivery.

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor''s degree or equivalent professional experience.

•8+ years of Program or Project Management experience.

•Minimum 6 years leading large-scale Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) projects.

•Proven experience managing enterprise software development programs from initiation through delivery.
