Key Responsibilities
Architect, design, and develop high-performance Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot.
Build and optimize event-driven, real-time systems leveraging Apache Kafka and MQ.
Develop, deploy, and manage microservices on Docker, OpenShift, or other Kubernetes platforms.
Engineer CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Maven, Gradle, Artifactory, and enterprise DevOps tooling.
Write clean, testable, production-grade code using JUnit, Mockito, and automated testing frameworks.
Deploy and manage applications on the OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
Design high-performance data solutions using SingleStore (MemSQL), Redis, MS SQL, and DB2.
Integrate with enterprise platforms like WebSphere and distributed systems.
Implement observability and performance monitoring via ELK, Grafana, and telemetry tools.
Apply secure coding practices using Snyk, Aqua, and GitHub security scanning.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.
Participate in code reviews, mentor peers, and set the bar for engineering excellence.
Troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack, ensuring reliability, uptime, and performance.
Work with enterprise automation and deployment tools, including Stonebranch and UCD (UrbanCode Deploy).
Apply deep knowledge of brokerage operations, market data, trade lifecycle, risk controls, and regulatory requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
 
Required Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot, delivering enterprise-grade systems.
Advanced expertise with Kafka, including high-throughput streaming and scalable producers/consumers.
Proven experience deploying and supporting applications on OpenShift or other Kubernetes platforms.
Strong experience with SingleStore (MemSQL) or other distributed SQL databases.
Hands-on experience with Redis, MS SQL, DB2, and high-performance data architectures.
Proficiency with Linux, shell scripting, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Command of GitHub, GitHub Actions, Maven, Gradle, Artifactory, and CI/CD best practices.
Experience with Docker, WebSphere, and enterprise deployment pipelines (e.g., UCD).
Familiarity with observability stacks such as ELK and Grafana.
Prior experience in financial services, especially brokerage or trading systems, strongly preferred.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver elegant solutions for complex challenges.
Strong communication skills to influence, mentor, and lead technical discussions.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
Must be local to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis–St. Paul) or willing to relocate.
 
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience with Python for automation or data processing.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms.
Exposure to regulatory frameworks, risk controls, or trade lifecycle workflows.
Experience designing or modernizing microservices architectures.
Experience with enterprise scheduling/automation tools like Stonebranch.
