Job Description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is searching for a Senior Software EOL / Technology Risk Program Manager for a RIGHT-TO-HIRE CONTRACTOR assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Dallas, TX .

The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading large-scale Software End-of-Life (EOL), technology lifecycle, and technology risk remediation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. This individual must combine strong program leadership with sufficient technical depth to understand application and infrastructure risks, challenge technology stakeholders, and independently drive remediation efforts to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Lead remediation efforts across in-scope end-of-life technology assets (EOLTA) , driving measurable reduction in technology risk exposure.
  • Independently develop and execute remediation strategies, plans, milestones, and escalation paths.
  • Partner with application owners, infrastructure teams, technology leaders, and enterprise stakeholders to drive EOL remediation activities to completion.
  • Apply a strong technology-risk lens to identify, assess, prioritize, and escalate risks associated with unsupported or end-of-life technologies.
  • Assertively drive accountability with application owners and technology teams when remediation plans or deadlines are at risk.
  • Provide oversight and advisory support while possessing the technical aptitude to dive into application and infrastructure details when necessary.
  • Own and maintain program tracking, remediation status, risk metrics, KRIs, dashboards, and executive-level reporting.
  • Analyze remediation progress and proactively identify risks, dependencies, roadblocks, and potential missed deadlines.
  • Develop reporting and presentation materials for senior technology leadership.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate governance and controls around Software EOL remediation.
  • Support audit, regulatory, and internal technology-risk requirements related to software lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate with enterprise technology, PMO, risk, and other stakeholders when new remediation mandates or deadlines are established.
  • Provide leadership and functional direction across Software EOL remediation activities with minimal day-to-day oversight.

Required Skills
  • Strong experience with Software End-of-Life (EOL), software lifecycle management, technology lifecycle management, technology asset management, or technology obsolescence/remediation .
  • Proven experience leading complex, enterprise-scale technology remediation programs and driving initiatives from identification through remediation.
  • Prior technical and/or engineering experience within software development, infrastructure, application support, technology architecture, or related technology teams .
  • Strong understanding of technology risk , including the ability to assess EOL exposure, identify remediation risk, establish priorities, and escalate appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead initiatives and drive accountability across application owners and technology teams.
  • Strong program management capabilities, including planning, milestone management, dependency management, risk management, and executive reporting.
  • Ability to understand and discuss application and infrastructure technologies with engineers and other technical stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of IT governance, controls, and risk-management principles.
  • Experience developing and presenting status reporting, dashboards, metrics, and KRIs to senior technology leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, challenge, guide, and escalate with senior stakeholders.
  • Assertive, proactive leadership style with the ability to operate independently and drive issues to resolution.
  • Experience working within a large, complex enterprise technology environment .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent remediation efforts.

Preferred Skills
  • Vulnerability Management experience.
  • Financial Services, banking, or capital markets technology experience.
  • Experience with IT Change & Transformation and/or Technology Architecture.
  • Experience supporting technology risk, audit, regulatory, or compliance initiatives.
  • Experience troubleshooting or supporting internal applications, integrations, or data flows used for technology remediation tracking and reporting.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI , as well as strong Excel and presentation skills.
