HR Generalist

Job Description
The HR Generalist is responsible for administering the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits administration, safety, training, and HR reporting.
This individual will serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers while helping build scalable HR processes that support a rapidly growing organization operating in office, manufacturing, and field environments.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing employee advocacy with sound business judgment.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for office, manufacturing, drafting, estimating, project management, field, and administrative positions.
- Coordinate job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, background checks, and offer letters.
- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Ensure all employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Support internship, apprenticeship, and referral programs.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns.
- Coach managers on employee relations, documentation, and performance issues.
- Conduct investigations professionally and confidentially.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture.
- Support conflict resolution while ensuring consistent application of company policies.
- Coordinate annual and quarterly performance review processes.
- Assist managers with performance improvement plans and employee development.
- Track employee goals, evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Help implement leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Process employment status changes including promotions, transfers, leaves, and separations.
- Prepare HR reports and workforce metrics.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain employee handbook, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate employee benefits enrollment and changes.
- Serve as liaison between employees and benefits providers.
- Support payroll preparation by ensuring accurate employee data.
- Assist with compensation benchmarking and annual salary review processes.
- Maintain compliance with employment regulations including I-9s, EEO, FMLA, ADA, wage and hour laws, and OSHA documentation.
- Support workers' compensation administration and return-to-work programs.
- Coordinate required employee training and compliance certifications.
- Partner with leadership to reinforce Bestmark's safety culture.
- Coordinate employee training programs.
- Assist with leadership development initiatives.
- Identify training needs and recommend development opportunities.
- Support employee engagement and recognition programs.
