Burns & McDonnell's Power Global Practice is seeking to hire a Senior Piping Engineer in our Kansas City headquarters. The Senior Piping Engineer will work on an integrated design to perform the following duties:

Responsibilities:
  • Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.
  • May develop and evaluate plans for major projects. May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable.
  • May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments. Progressive design and project management responsibilities. Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
  • Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel.
  • Some marketing responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of piping engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred. Required or
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. and 7 years of piping engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred. Required or
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6 years of piping engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred. Required
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of piping equipment design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE). Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
  • Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
