Our Middlesborough based client is seeking an experienced People Advisor to support its site-based operations team. This is a superb opportunity to work in a role offering future growth and development for a successful manufacturing business.
This role will suit a proactive, self-starter with experience in a generalist HR role, providing people support, partnering with managers and employees across a fast-paced operational environment. You’ll play a key role in employee relations, recruitment, absence management, onboarding, wellbeing and colleague engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- First point of contact for HR and people-related queries.
- Providing advice and guidance on absence, conduct, capability, grievance and probation matters.
- Supporting the employee relations processes, investigations and formal meetings.
- Coordinating recruitment, onboarding and probation activities
- Monitoring absence management and occupational health referrals.
- Maintaining accurate HR records, reports and documentation.
- Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and communication initiatives.
- Building effective relationships with managers, employees and trade union representatives.
- Ensuring HR processes are compliant with employment legislation and internal policies.
About You
- You will have experience in a People Advisor, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
- Confident in supporting and partnering managers with people-related matters.
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, engineering or another operational environment would be advantageous.
- CIPD qualification or working towards accreditation is desirable.
