Job Summary
The PEP+ Professional Services Technical Consultant is a specialized payments technology professional responsible for the implementation, configuration, customization, and ongoing support of the Fiserv PEP+ ACH payment processing platform in enterprise mainframe environments. This role works directly with financial institution clients, internal delivery teams, and product stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant, and highperformance ACH processing solutions.
This position requires handson experience with Fiserv PEP+ and deep expertise in ACH processing, NACHA rules, and mainframe technologies.
Key Responsibilities
PEP+ Implementation & Delivery
  • Lead and support Fiserv PEP+ installations, upgrades, migrations, and conversions
  • Configure and customize PEP+ modules to support ACH origination and receipt
  • Support SEC codes including PPD, CCD, CTX, WEB, TEL, and related processing scenarios
  • Plan and execute parallel testing, cutover activities, and production golives
Mainframe & Technical Expertise
  • Develop, analyze, and support solutions using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and z/OS utilities
  • Troubleshoot batch processing, job scheduling, abends, and performance issues
  • Support integrations between PEP+ and upstream/downstream systems (core banking, fraud, OFAC, reporting)
ACH & NACHA Compliance
  • Apply expert knowledge of NACHA operating rules, ACH file layouts, validations, and exception handling
  • Support returns, NOCs, reversals, prenotes, and settlement balancing
  • Assist clients with compliance impacts and ACH rule change implementation
Troubleshooting & Optimization
  • Diagnose and resolve PEP+ processing failures, data integrity issues, and scheduling problems
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventative actions
  • Optimize PEP+ processing for highvolume ACH environments
Consulting & Client Engagement
  • Gather and document business and functional requirements
  • Design endtoend ACH workflows aligned with client operating models
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex PEP+ concepts for business, operations, and compliance teams
  • Produce technical documentation, implementation guides, and runbooks
Required Qualifications
Experience
  • 5 7+ years of experience in payment technologies
  • Handson experience with Fiserv PEP+ (required / musthave)
  • Proven experience supporting ACH processing in mainframe environments
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and z/OS
  • Deep understanding of ACH processing, NACHA rules, and SEC codes
  • Experience troubleshooting batch processing, scheduling, and settlement issues
  • Familiarity with encryption, certificates, and secure file transmission is a plus
Education
  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Professional Services Skills
  • Strong clientfacing consulting experience
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities
  • Comfortable working independently or within crossfunctional delivery teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PEP+ Exchange, PEP+ Direct APIs, and PaymentView Navigator
  • Background supporting large financial institutions or highvolume ACH operations
