Genesis10 is currently seeking a Business Systems Consultant - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role supports the application penetration testing team by managing and coordinating application security assessments throughout the engagement lifecycle. The consultant will serve as the primary liaison between application teams, security testers, and technology partners, leveraging Agile practices to manage work intake, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder communications. This position requires a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

This role supports the application penetration testing team by managing and coordinating application security assessments throughout the engagement lifecycle. The consultant will serve as the primary liaison between application teams, security testers, and technology partners, leveraging Agile practices to manage work intake, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder communications. This position requires a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate collection of architecture diagrams, supporting documentation, business context, and other required inputs needed to prepare application security assessments
- Coordinate with the application team to validate that all required access, test accounts, target environments, and designated points of contact are available and operational prior to assessment execution
- Track readiness activities, identify onboarding issues, and coordinate resolution of blockers that may affect assessment start dates or progress
- Facilitate communication between the development community, Penetration Testers, Application Security Champions, and Technology Partners throughout the assessment lifecycle
- Monitor assessment progress, track milestones and status, and provide clear updates to stakeholders and program leadership
- Manage scope changes, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications to keep assessments aligned with program expectations
- Coordinate and facilitate post-assessment debrief sessions with testers, application teams, and Application Security Champions to communicate findings and support remediation planning
- Coordinate remediation activities with application teams, track target completion dates, and escalate overdue findings as needed
- Track assessment coverage, onboarding metrics, remediation trends, retest activity, and program effectiveness to support governance, compliance, and metrics reporting
- Manage and own Agile work intake, ticket workflow hygiene, capacity planning, resource allocation, and delivery forecasting
Requirements:
- 4 years of Business Systems Data experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
- 4 years of experience coordinating technology, cybersecurity, risk, or application delivery activities
- Experience managing assessment intake, readiness, scheduling, status tracking, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution across multiple concurrent activities
- Experience working with application teams, technology partners, or security teams to collect required documentation, confirm access and test account readiness, and resolve onboarding blockers
- Experience tracking milestones, risks, scope changes, remediation activities, target dates, and closure requirements using workflow or service management tools
Desired skills:
- Background in Application Security, Risk Management, AppSec Operations, or Security Service Delivery
- Strong coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent assessments, retests, and stakeholder requests
- Familiarity with application security assessment lifecycle concepts, including intake, scoping, readiness, testing, findings review, remediation, retesting, and governance reporting
- Experience using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel, or PowerPoint
- Ability to create clear, concise stakeholder communications, meeting notes, status summaries, and governance or operational metrics reporting materials
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track assessment coverage, onboarding metrics, remediation trends, and program effectiveness
- Foundational understanding of application security risk, vulnerability management, remediation workflows, and compliance reporting is a plus
